How To Get Sponsored Posts From Brands

Last week, the awesome lifestyle bloggers in our awesome Twitter group chats were talking about how frightening and difficult it is to find brands that will collaborate with them. So, I went digging and came up with the solution.

Are you thinking about sponsored posts? How do you get started working with brands? How do you get them to notice you? Click to find out now or repin to read later!

Brand collaboration is a way of making money as a blogger. Most brands collaborate with bloggers in the form of Sponsored posts, product reviews or individual campaigns. The payment you receive depends on your agreement with the brand. Most brands offer monetary compensation while others offer free product/ services.

The Easiest Way to Get Brands To Collaborate With You

There are two ways of getting brand collaboration;

-Direct pitching
-Going through Influencer Marketplaces.

How To Get Brand Collaboration Through Influencer Marketplaces

This is the easiest route to go if you want to get sponsored post opportunities from brands. There are more than 1000 (yes, one thousand) Influencer media agencies in the world. I have been reading the reviews of most of them and here are the top recommended ones.

I applied to Linqia yesterday and got approved under 45 minutes (😎). Linqia requires you to have at least 2500+ followers or blog readers. I did not have that number of followers on my Twitter account, so I connected my Pinterest account and blog.

Once you are approved, Linqia will choose a campaign for you, and you get paid per click.

I am going to accept campaigns and let you guys know exactly how much I make for each one.  I have read so many positive reviews about Linqia. and It is said to be the best. Click here  to sign up for Linqia

I also applied to Izea yesterday and got approved. Izea and Linqia are the most applauded Influencer program available for brand sponsorship. After getting a campaign, I will let you all know how it went. In the meantime, Click HERE to sign up on Izea.

Other agencies include.

The Right Way to Pitch Brands

Once you apply to Influencer media agencies, the next thing you should do will be to reach out to brands directly. I know this may sound frightening, but the worst that could happen is that your email would get ignored or they’ll tell you a NO. You may also get a yes and a chance to work for some amazing companies.

When pitching a brand, you’ll need to have a media kit handy.  A media kit is where you outline what your blog is about, your audience and show your stats.

Every blogger needs to have a media kit. If you don’t have one, you can make one on Canva for free. Simply create an account and edit an existing template like this

The next phase will be to find brands to pitch. If you are a beauty blogger, you can collaborate with skincare companies, nail polish businesses and makeup companies. You do not have to pitch a huge brand, try starting out with smaller brands (especially if your blog is new) that way, you have a higher chance of getting a YES.

Once you know the kind of brand you want to work with, and have your media kit handy, it’s time to find the contact information of the brand and pitch your way through. You can find their contact information on the website or social media pages.

A pitch like this is short, simple and straightforward. You can pitch more than one brand and wait for a reply. If you don’t get a reply in a week, you can send a follow-up email.

If you have any questions about brand collaboration, do let me know in the comments.

P.S- it’ll be super cute if you shared this.
